ISOVER HVAC/Technical Products – What is Mineral Wool?
Mineral wool is the generic term used to describe insulation materials manufactured from glass, rock or slag. Mineral wool insulation is made from the earth’s most abundant materials: rock, sand and minerals of various types.
ISOVER glass mineral wool is one of the most environmentally friendly, stable and sustainable insulants available. Its raw material is silica sand, the earth’s most abundantly occurring material. In addition, all ISOVER glass mineral wool insulation contains around 80% recycled glass, originating from used consumer packaging or industrial glass by-product that would normally be destined for landfill.
Isover glass wool has low weight and high compressibility with excellent thickness recovery.
ISOVER Ultimate is a revolutionary glass mineral wool that can be used at high continuous working temperatures. ISOVER Ultimate has all the advantages of conventional glass mineral wool including high compression capabilities with associated resilience and thickness recovery, but with none of the weight disadvantages of high temperature rock mineral wool.
