INGREDIENTS FROM AN INFINITE SOURCE
Isover glass wool insulation is manufactured from a combination of silica sand and upto 80% recycled post-consumer glass from building regeneration projects or flat glass manufacture that would otherwise go to landfill.* This makes Isover one of the most environmentally sustainable insulation products on the market today.
- • Zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential)
- • Zero GWP (GlobalWarming Potential)
- • A contribution towards the available credits in the following four key areas under the Code for Sustainable Homes. Energy and CO2, Health and Wellbeing, Materials and Pollution.
- • Glass mineral wool insulation achieves an A+ rating under the BRE Green Guide.
MINIMUM IMPACT MANUFACTURING
Every part of the Isover manufacturing process is carefully monitored and controlled to remain within environmentally acceptable limits, for minimum impact and maximum manufacturing efficiency.
No CFCs, HCFCs or harmful gases are generated in the production process. Isover recycle as much water as possible, and no effluent is allowed to drain away. In addition, recycled water is used in many manufacturing and ancillary processes. Isover is fully compliant with IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) and greenhouse Gas Permits. The Isover manufacturing process guarantees that any energy used to produce glass mineral wool is totally recovered by the energy savings generated when the product is in situ. As part of our commitment to provide one of the industry’s most environmentally sustainable insulation solutions, the Isover manufacturing site is now fully accredited to ISO 14001, Environmental Management System.
*The Isover manufacturing process is also capable of utilising glass cullet from recycled bottles.
