Acoustic Insulation

Acoustic Insulation

Help reduce the movement of sound through walls, floors and ceilings with acoustic insulation

The benefits of acoustic insulation

Whether it’s for commercial or residential applications, mineral wool insulation with acoustic properties can help reduce sound transmission between adjoining spaces when used in a well-designed system. Let’s look at the core elements.

Acoustic performance

The non-continuous structure of the glass fibres that make up glass mineral wool impede the passage of sound. This can be used in systems to reduce airborne sound transmission and improve acoustic insulation when installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s system installation guidance. For our system information, please refer to the British Gypsum White Book specification selector.

Absorbs sound energy

The tightly packed fibres in mineral wool helps to absorb sound energy and low-frequency sounds, ideal for noisy places such as multioccupancy flats, busy public spaces and schools.

Helps create comfortable spaces

By reducing the movement of noise through walls, floors and ceilings, acoustic insulation can help create a more comfortable environment for occupants.
