Isover Acoustic Partition Roll first to be manufactured with Lanaé bio-based binder
As part of our continued sustainable development, we are excited to announce that as of 14 April 2026, Isover Acoustic Partition Roll (APR 1200) is the first product in our new Lanaé range to be manufactured using a bio-based binder made from renewable materials, derived from sugar and cereal.
Isover Acoustic Partition Roll is now produced using the new bio-based binder, maintaining the same proven product performances.
The main differences you will see are:
- The change of binder has resulted in a visual change to the colour from yellow to more of a cream colour.
- We have also updated the packaging to include the Lanaé branding and updated recycled content information.
Note – there will be no impact on the performance of the product. SKU codes will remain unchanged.
You can access a communication below which can be shared with colleagues and customers, to explain the upcoming product changes and when they will take effect.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Lanaé?
Lanaé is transforming our current glass wool offer for internal applications. Acoustic Partition Roll (APR1200) will be our first product in the Lanaé range. Our Lanaé glass wool is manufactured using a bio-based binder, made from renewable materials derived from sugar and cereals.
Lanaé continues to deliver the same proven product performance, now with the added benefit of a binder made from more sustainable, renewable materials.
Will there be any impact on product performance?
No – all products using the new Lanaé bio-based binder will have exactly the same performance credentials as the previous products. The Lanaé APR 1200 has been tested and proven to maintain performance both as a product and within the existing British Gypsum partition systems. Lanaé APR 1200, when used in our tested systems, continues to be part of our British Gypsum Specsure® warranty.
What is the product storage advice?
As with all Isover mineral wool, products must be kept dry and protected from prolonged sunlight. The polyethylene packaging and shrink‑wrapped pallets provide short‑term protection only. For longer‑term storage, keep the product indoors or under cover and raised off the ground.
What visible difference will there be?
The change of binder has resulted in a change in colour from yellow to more of a cream colour. Below you can see an image of the current APR 1200 alongside the new Lanaé APR featuring the bio-based binder which is creamier in colour.
We have also updated the packaging to include the Lanaé branding and updated recycled content information.
How will this impact the sustainability of the product?
- Isover Acoustic Partition Roll (APR 1200) is now manufactured with a binder that uses less virgin raw materials and less chemicals, which helps reduce its environmental impact and supports circularity efforts.
- It will continue to be made using recycled glass, made up of a combination of 52% externally sourced recycled glass and 30% internally sourced glass cullet.
- All electric equipment in the UK plant at Runcorn continues to be powered by 100% renewable electricity including the electrical furnace used to melt down the materials in the manufacturing process.
